How We Help

Pfaffinger Foundation was established to assist eligible employees, former employees, and retirees of the companies that were once part of a corporation known as The Times Mirror Company. Spouses and minor children are also eligible. Although Times Mirror merged into Tribune in 2000, Pfaffinger continues to provide this assistance.

Pfaffinger assists with unforeseen financial difficulties. Specific assistance includes such costs as rent or mortgage payments and medical and dental expenses. For retirees, the Foundation is sometimes able to provide a limited amount of in-home care or meet certain out-of-pocket medical costs, among other types of assistance. Examples appear in Sample Cases. The Foundation’s professional case managers can help with many types of assistance and referrals.
